Frequently Asked Questions

View answers to the most common questions we receive

Do you have a propane payment plan?

Yes. We have a monthly propane budget plan that allows our customers to flatten out their propane payments over the course of a year and avoid making larger payments when home heating fuel deliveries are made.

How much is it to switch to Avery Oil & Propane?

Under normal circumstances, there is absolutely no charge to switch from your current propane company to Avery Oil & Propane. If you don’t own your tank, you will simply rent your propane tank from us instead of your current company. Or you can purchase a tank.

Can I come to the office to pay my propane bill?

Absolutely! You can stop by any of our three offices located in Rives Junction, Mason and Tecumseh during normal business hours and pay your bill. Each location also has a drop box for after-hour payments.

Are there any delivery or hazmat fees?

We know this is strange, but we do NOT charge additional fees. We believe the price of propane should be the price you pay. Avery Oil & Propane does not charge any fees when it comes to regular propane deliveries.

Do I need to be home for a propane delivery?

Only if your tank is completely empty of propane. Otherwise, you do not need to be home when we make a delivery.

What’s the minimum propane delivery?

Our minimum delivery is 250 gallons.

Why does my ticket say, “gallons corrected to 60 degrees”?

Since propane is a gas, it expands and contracts based on temperature. Sixty degrees Fahrenheit is universally recognized throughout the propane industry as the base reference point for liquid propane volume correction. In short, every propane company does this to make sure you’re paying the right price for your propane no matter what the temperature is outside.

How soon can I get a propane delivery?

Avery Oil & Propane guarantees regular deliveries within three business days, which is much faster than the industry standard. Depending on how our routes are scheduled, we often deliver within a day or two.

What’s the balance on my account?

There are several ways to check. You can look up your balance through our online portal, through the Avery Oil & Propane app, or by contacting us by phone, text, email or in person.

What methods of payment do you accept?

As many methods as we can. We accept payment by cash, credit, debit, electronic funds transfer, ACH, etc. You can view and pay your bill through our online portal

Do you deliver to my area?

We hope so! From our offices in Rives Junction, Mason and Tecumseh, we service an area roughly from Marshall to Dexter and Lansing across the state line into Ohio. To find out for sure, simply visit the delivery area page on our website at averyoilcompany.com/delivery-area and enter your zip code to get an answer instantly. If you are in search of a propane provider in central or northern Michigan, check out our sister companies Coyne Oil & Propane and Smith Oil & Propane.

How hard is it to switch to Avery Oil & Propane?

Getting started with Avery Oil & Propane is easy. Simply contact us for a quote, pick a plan to meet your needs and we will deliver and place your tank for free. It’s as simple as that.

What is the current price of propane?

Propane is a commodity, so prices change regularly. To get the latest price, you can simply contact us via phone, text or email. We won’t ask you 20 questions or trick you into giving us information we don’t really need. We’ll simply ask a couple of questions that we need answered to give you the current price.

Can I lock in my propane price?

We offer three ways to lock in propane prices — pre-buy, budget and price cap plans — during our annual enrollment period that generally runs from July to sometime in September.

What if I still have questions about propane?

We would be happy to answer them! Simply contact us by phone, by text, via Facebook Messenger or in person.
